Easton Knife Killing Case Goes to Jury



Three men received non-lethal injuries after being attacked by a knife-wielding suspect early Monday morning, according to police.Roughly 20 minutes after midnight, security at Antigua, a bar on the 600 block of Whittaker Avenue, kicked out an unruly patron after he allegedly hit a 29-year-old man with a bottle. Once the patron was outside, security personnel went back inside to tend to the customer who was hit with a bottle.At that time, a second confrontation occurred outside the bar. A man currently known only as"Caesar" attacked three other men with a butterfly knife, Lt. Mark Kieffer said. One man was stabbed once in the abdomen, another had his arm slashed and a third man sustained a cut on the left side of his body.

It's unclear if the two incidents are related or perpetrated by the same suspect, according to police.The 27-year-old stabbed in the abdomen remains in stable condition and is expected to survive while the other three victims were treated and released from the Capital Health Medical Center. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with black leather jacket, a turquoise shirt and blue jeans. Tony Reaves, 50, of the 800 block of Main Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with battery in the 600 block of Davis Street at 5:09 p.m. Monday, May 6, according to police. Robert Nicholas Saenz, 37, of the 1400 block of Edgewood in Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with criminal damage and aggravated battery on Sunday, May 5, according to policeThat means jurors will return to Northampton County Court Thursday morning to begin hearing closing arguments and begin deliberating whether Gaines is guilty of killing William Thompson in Easton last summer.
